|
|
Hi!
I just joined the forum today! I've had my Zire72 since Christmas, and it's been great so far. Except for the fact that the blue rubberized paint is peeling off of the corners, and the right side where the stylus slot is located. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Would this be covered under warranty, and if so, should I send it in? I attached a few pictures.
Also, I have a bit of a problem with the security software. When I first set up the security feature, it worked fine. I set it up for a preset time of 12:00 a.m. Every morning I had to enter my password. Then, one day it wouldn't turn on. I tried everything, but I finally had to do a hard reset. It works fine now, but if I set it for a preset time, it locks up. I only have to do a soft reset, but it's very troubling. So, now if I want security, I have to set it to come on with EVERY start up. This works fine, but setting it for a time doesn't! I'm very upset with this! I figure it's a software issue, but does any one else have any ideas?
Thanks!
Courtney

Both your problems are well known in many of the Palm forums all over the internet. The blue paint peels off after a while of use. Many people suggest removing all of it to reveal the silver, thus, that's why there's a silver edition for the Z72 (Z72 minus the blue paint). Do a search on the internet and you should come with lots of info.
Some people say that nail polish does well to remove the rest of the blue paint. Just be patient and you should be able to do it so that you'll be pleased with the result.
As for the lock issue. With the Zire 72, if you set the auto-lock feature on it, there is a known bug that has never been fixed by Palm. I'd suggest you to stop using the auto-lock feature since it has a tendency to drain the battery and instead opt for another third party software that can lock your Palm. The auto-lock software in the palm has been known to be easily crackable so you're better off getting something that is not so easy to bypass. _________________ Check out Flash demos at palmdiscovery.netfirms.com... |
