New webOS devices coming within the "next year"

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - June 18, 2010

Palm has been in limbo as of late and they're falling behind the smartphone crowd. With the announcement of the new iPhone 4, more Android phones being released, Windows Phone 7 on the horizon, and new BlackBerrys on the way, Palm seems very far behind. However, the company doesn't want us to forget about them, and they've let a little cat out of the bag. According to Palm, new webOS devices are indeed on the way.

At the developers webinar hosted by AT&T, Palm said that new devices are on the way. Asked if there were plans to release new devices this year, Palm’s rep said:

“I'm not allowed to talk about future roadmaps, especially because we're in the process of being acquired by HP, so I can't say. But yes we have a road map. We are working on future devices. And [a] new version of the OS. So I think, you're going to find the next year very exciting.”

The next year? That's just too long to wait for Palm. I love weOS, but the hardware is terrible and there aren't enough good apps. I've already moved on to Android and will be picking up a new iPhone next week. If Palm releases something I'll be sure to check it out, but I'm not holding my breath. I wish you luck Palm, but I'm moving on...
