The world is waiting for webOS 1.4 to hit and the rumor is, it will be available on February 15. A user named Benjio posted an internal email from Sprint in the Pre Central forums detailing the launch date. It appears from the documentation that the webOS update will come on the 15th of February.

webOS 1.4 is supposed to introduce video capture capabilities and a few other messaging features. We can't wait!
