BlackBerry marketshare shrinks slightly, iPhone's growing, Android still small

comScore has released their latest smartphone market stats from the last quarter of 2009 and it's very interesting. BlackBerry is still dominant with 41.6% of the market, but that's actually down from 42.6%. Apple came in second with 25.3% of the market which is up 1.2%. Microsoft was third with 18%, Palm at 6.1%, and Android had 5.2%. Android was actually up 2.7 percentage points.

What does it all mean? It means that things are changing very slowly. With all the buzz around Android they still only have a very small percent of the market. Let's check back in a year and they will probably have grown.

Apple has made significant progress in just a few years. What is up with Microsoft? We've heard barely any buzz around Windows Mobile in a couple years.
