During an investor call this morning, Verizon confirmed plans to launch the Palm Pre in 2010. The launch of the Pre on Verizon was about the only good news on the conference call today. Revenues were up for the quarter but profits were down 21 percent. Verizon announced plans to reduce its workforce by 8,000 between now and the end of 2009.

Let's hope the Palm Pre can get Verizon out of the dumps and start earning some money again.
