The rumors of a Treo 610 have been swirling around the Internet for months. Today we have the first real confirmation that a Treo 610 is actually planned. According to Dow Jones Newswires a recent research note written by Detwiler Mitchell & Co. talks about palmOne's plans to change parts suppliers for the CDMA modems used in some of its models. This note actually says, "we are hearing that PalmOne has plans to move away from Sierra Wireless for models following the Treo 600 and 610."
The note also mentions that palmOne is going to launch the Treo 610 on Verizon Wireless' network during the second quarter of this year.
Several sites have speculated on the actual specifications of the Treo 610. It is expected that the Treo 610 will keep the same basic design with some fixes for commonly report problems with the Treo 600. The new Treo 610 is expected to have more memory, a better screen, and Bluetooth wireless networking.
