We've seen fan-created Palm Pre commercials in the past and they have bested Palm's marketing department in a big way. Here's another one from Arno Arni on Vimeo. He has put together a 30 second spot that shows off the multitasking powers of webOS in a big way. I wonder if anyone at Palm is watching. Perhaps they should hire this guy....read more

Palm Pre gets 1.05 Ghz overclock
News - June 28, 2010 - 0 Comments
We've seen the Pre get overclocked to 720Ghz and 800Ghz before, but now some overclocking wizard named Thunderchief is taking it to a new level. He has managed to get the Pre up to 1.05Ghz. As you can see in the video the Pre is smoking fast at 1Ghz. This overclock is not for the casual user at this point and is still in Alpha. In addition to the 1Ghz overclock, Thunderchief's kernels enable Compache, which brings compressed RAM swapping to the Pre. Do you need all that? Maybe, maybe no...read more

News - June 18, 2010 - 0 Comments
Palm has been in limbo as of late and they're falling behind the smartphone crowd. With the announcement of the new iPhone 4, more Android phones being released, Windows Phone 7 on the horizon, and new BlackBerrys on the way, Palm seems very far behind. However, the company doesn't want us to forget about them, and they've let a little cat out of the bag. According to Palm, new webOS devices are indeed on the way. At the developers webinar hosted by AT&T, Palm said that new devices are on ...read more

Syncing iTunes with your Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, or webOS Phone
Software Reviews - June 17, 2010 - 0 Comments
Apple has established iTunes as the defacto music player and organizer for most people, but they will only allow Apple products to sync with their software. That leaves Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and webOS users out in the cold as far as synching their phones to their music library. There are a few options with 3rd party software that work well, and I've taken two of the most popular ones for a spin. DoubleTwist DoubleTwist is a nice desktop application t...read more

Sprint EVO launch tops previous record help by Palm Pre
News - June 07, 2010 - 0 Comments
The Sprint EVO launch last Friday beat a record previously held by the Palm Pre. Android Central reports that the EVO launch set the record for single day sales at Sprint. Official numbers are not available, but they are estimating Sprint sold 50,000 EVOs. What does this say about the Palm Pre? There was so much hope for webOS but most of the carriers have moved on to Android, BlackBerry, and the iPhone. Will HP's purchase of Palm mean better phones down the line? Nobody knows. I love t...read more

Today HP is trying to clarify its position and it looks like they will continue to make smartphones. HP CEO not that interested in smartphones?
News - June 03, 2010 - 0 Comments
HP CEO Mark Hurd spoke at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Technology conference yesterday and had some bad news for webOS smartphone users. Hurd told the group that HP wasn't going to "spend billions of dollars trying to get into the smartphone business; that doesn't in any way make any sense." Hurd went on to say, "we didn't buy Palm to be in the smartphone business. And I tell people that, but it doesn't seem to resonate well." We understand that HP wants to put webOS on zillions of web c...read more

All Things Digital is reporting that Palm's senior director of human interface and user experience, Matias Duarte, has left Palm/HP for Google.
